Repurpose Stationery Cards into Framed Art!

As we continue our eco-friendly path, we thought it would be fun to create a ‘How To’ blog with a short video on our repurposing stationery cards into framed art!

This could be any of our botanical cards but today we are focusing on our newest edition: Desert Bloom 5”x5” card collection. We created these cards specifically so that they double as art prints for your recipient.

Our Desert Bloom collection captures a whimsical element of Sonoran Desert florals. We are obsessed and know you will be too!

We currently, have six different 5”x5” cards in the shop including, Desert Rosemallow, Desert Marigold, Saguaro, Prickly Pear, Desert Senna, and Arizona Poppy. We love the idea of Mixing and matching.

For this 'How-To' blog example we chose our Desert Rosemallow

The frames we chose for the video are 12”x12” solid, simple, and black with a clean white mat inside. We enjoy the ‘gallery look’ with a matted frame but they can also fit in 5”x5” non-matted frames for a minimalist look. They also look great in any color and vintage thrifted frames as well.

If you have a mat, using a painters or framers tape works best when attaching the card to the back of the mat.

A trick for centering is to add the tape to the back of the card...

Flipping it over and then attaching the mat so that you can frame it straight to the image.

Push down on where the tape would be...

Then gently flip it over to press down on the tape again to make it secure

Where should you place your framed art? We love gallery walls with other local artists. You can also hang in offices, kitchens, bathrooms, and place them on bookshelves.

Not only did you up-cycle your card but now every time you look at it you’ll think of the person who sent it to you or see how your recipient designed their walls with the card you sent when they needed a pick me up adding a personal touch to the décor.

All in all, repurposing a stationery card into framed art has delightful benefits including an eco-friendly approach, getting creative when framing, versatility, and a personal touch to décor.
