"DESERT BLOOM consists of twelve 5”x 7” watercolor & ink illustrations influenced by the blooming seasons of the Sonoran Desert. Each illustration consists of desert plants I came across while biking near the Santa Cruz River, strolling through the pueblos of Tucson, AZ and hiking state & national parks. Growing up in the southwest, I found myself infatuated by the surrounding landscape and beauty it holds. I discovered that even in its most hottest and daunting months I could still find myself in awe with witnessing desert plants bud and blossom, not just surviving the heat but also thriving. Even during the coldest months one may see a few lovely little blooming gifts while others wait for the spring to greet us again." -Adela Antoinette
